ST. BERNARD STREET SHOOTINGS CASE DISMISSED!
URGENT ACTION NEEDED!
When St. Bernard Parish was evacuated after Katrina many pet owners
were forced to leave their beloved animals behind. This was a mandatory
evacuation, at gun point, in some cases, when people refused to leave
their pets. In order to get people to agree to evacuation, some officials
promised to take care of the pets who were left at St. Bernard High School.
Some of these dogs and cats were in their crates, others tied up to
door knobs inside St. Bernard High School when they were shot. Some
were let out of their crates and used as target practice. Shot in the belly
and left to bleed to death. Others were wounded and suffered for days
before dying. These were frightened family pets. The owners were told

The officers could have contacted the SPCA to rescue the animals,
they were staged at the Winn Dixie parking lot only minutes away,
but the officers chose to shoot them instead.

The case against the people responsible was dismissed
due to "lack of evidence" even though there is video tape of the
shootings and bodies of the animals afterwards.
These people need to be held accountable for their actions.

the court to hear this case.
